Hainan Free Trade Port Hosts Investment Conference in Rome, Deepening China-Italy Ties

The Hainan Free Trade Port Investment Promotion Conference, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hainan Provincial Committee, was successfully held in Rome, Italy. The event attracted over 130 high-level attendees, including representatives from Italy’s Presidential Office, various government departments (economic, tourism, and the Rome Government), the Chinese Embassy, and a substantial economic and trade delegation from Hainan, alongside Italian business leaders. The conference served as a key platform to showcase Hainan’s strategic advantages. Executives from major Hainan institutions, such as the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, Wenchang International Aerospace City, and Windows to Global Trade, presented the investment policies and abundant opportunities available in the healthcare, aerospace, and trade sectors of the Free Trade Port.
The potential of Hainan as a gateway to the Chinese market and a regional hub was further underscored by testimonials from organisations like the Association for the Development of Business Communications in Italy (ASCAI) and Bridgeway International, who shared their positive investment experiences in the province. Highlighting the conference’s success, multiple cooperation agreements were signed across diverse sectors, including culture, education, healthcare, wellness, and eco-friendly practices. Significant partnerships were secured between key Hainan enterprises and Italian institutions, such as the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci and various Italian medical and educational firms, aiming to build closer ties between Hainan and Europe. Furthermore, the official launch of the Italy-Hainan Business Association is expected to become a vital platform for promoting sustained economic and trade exchanges between the two regions.
This recent Rome event builds upon the momentum generated by a similar promotion conference held in Milan last year, which led to subsequent visits by Italian business associations to Hainan and the launch of a China-Italy Business Hub in Sanya. Prior to the Rome conference, the Hainan delegation engaged in direct visits to Italian companies, including TRISMOKA, DANTE BERTONI, and ERBOLARIO, to explore commercial opportunities in food, manufacturing, and beyond. The latest event successfully elevated the existing cooperation between Hainan and Italy, paving the way for enterprises from both sides to thrive in an increasingly integrated global market.
